I’m well known for being one of the best dressed penguins. It’s all about finding your signature style and sticking to it. I’m not saying never buy the new items, just remember that originality is key. In the old days we didn’t have near as many layers as we do now. How you dress is one of the most important things you decide in club penguin.

Here are a few of my tips for having a well dressed penguin:

1. Pick your favorite item and start there- Having a signature item is the first step to developing your own style. Everyone has one item that they probably became a member for or maybe it’s your first item you got from a party. Once you have decided on this item put it on your penguin and keep it there.

2. Avoid overlap- Overlap is the ugliest thing you can do to your penguin. There are a few items that overlap almost anything and should be avoided unless you have chosen it as your signature item. The duck is a body item that overlaps with almost all neck items. If you like the duck (like I do) you may have to compromise your neck selection by using a cape or by not using a neck item at all. Be sure to avoid overlap on your player card and on your in game penguin.

3. Coordination is key- Make sure the items you use work together and complement each other. This includes controlling overlap as well as color coordination. Choose items that look and “feel” good together. Always keep an open mind with your outfit and be sure to check the catalogs to see if any new items fit your outfit better.

4. Less is more- You don’t need to use every clothing layer on your penguin. If you try to put an item on every layer you will end up putting items on that don’t flow with the rest of the outfit. This is the problem most penguins have and don’t even realize it! A empty layer is not a bad thing and it leaves room for you to update your look with new items as they come.

Remember to take your time when developing your clothing selection. It’s important that you wear what you like and not items that you think will make you popular. The real friends are the ones who like you for who you are, and your clothing (if chosen correctly) will be an extension of who you are. With the amount of clothing items that are available you can find that 1 in a million look that defines who you are.

Also these tips don’t only apply to members! Although your selecting is more limited if you are a nonmember you can still have your own look. Nonmembers need to keep in mind that less is more and not pile every item they have onto their penguin.
